I am together with Edgar when my bicycle gets a puncture. This is a good reason to go to the house where my mother is still living. But I am afraid we will have an argument. I ask Edgar to go with me, but he suddenly disappears. Instead of avoiding her by going to the back of the house, what I need for repairing the puncture is in the shed, I ring at the front door. I feel like I'm standing in front of a booking office window. Someone looks out from the upper floor of the house next door. Then my mother appears, as an old woman, bent forward, but as strong as ever. She doesn't want to have anything to do with me. "You're not coming in," she shouts at me. I am relieved, it's not my fault, it's her pattern.
